Parent’s vow As a parent of Little Sprouts you are responsible for:
- Dropping-off and picking-up child at least 15 minutes after the hour of booking.
- Calling in the case of cancellation or if you are going to be unusually late dropping off or picking your child.
- Not bringing your ill child to the center.
- Sending a nutritious lunch to fulfill your child throughout the day.
- Providing an extra set of clothing, indoor footwear, and paint smock for art activities.
- Sending your child dressed appropriately for the season.
- Paying fees due on time regularly. You will be billed at the end of every month, given on the 1st unless prior arrangements have been made with daycare staff.
- Giving one month written notice for any family vacations.
- Giving one month written notice if you are removing your child permanently.
Caregiver’s vow:
- I will comply with Licensing requirements and Community Care and Assisted Living Act.
- I will ensure indoor and outdoor play areas are safe and inspected daily.
- I will notify parents of any communicable disease outbreaks within the centre.
- I will provide nutritious snacks twice a day.
- I will offer both indoor and outdoor experiences.
- I will remain professional at all times and keep all information given to the center in contact or verbally in confidence.
- I will strictly enforce a non-smoking environment both inside and on the property grounds.
- I will notify parents at least one day in advance if substitute daycare provider is temporarily needed.
- I will notify parents at least one month in advance of my vacation time. I will have a substitute to fill in for this time.
Alternate / Emergency Caregivers
Experienced adults 19 years of age or older, who understand child development and recognize and provide for children's needs, staff the program.
Staff employed to develop and direct the program have training experience related to the ages of children enrolled.
Hiring practices of all potential employees include a criminal record check and a thorough check of personal references. All potential staff members serve a probationary employment during which time the director or other qualified person will make a professional judgment as to the physical and psychological competence working with children. Staff health records include results of pre-employment physical.
All staff members have First-Aid training.
Parent Participation
Parents have unrestricted visitation rights to any part of the center where the child is in care. We respect that right. Moreover, we encourage and welcome parent visits anytime. It is our belief that parent participation enhances the quality of care a child receives. Parents are free to join any of our activities.
To facilitate parent involvement, at Little Sprouts there will be a Parent Information Board for sharing thoughts and ideas special events, activities, outings and weekly schedules, etc.
